Excursion and Forest Bathing

Half a day to get to know, explore, be surprised and carve out a moment of peace and well-being amidst nature.

This guided hike stems from the knowledge and passion for the chestnut tree of Patrick Heitz (a graduate in natural sciences and an environmental and nature guide in various settings in our area).

Along a route lasting about half a day, participants are confronted with the many facets of the chestnut tree. As its website www.patrickheitz.ch reads:

‘The legacies of this not-too-distant past can still be appreciated in many places in our valleys: the graa, ancient buildings used for drying chestnuts, but above all the chestnut forests, real agro-forestry systems that constitute a remarkable natural and landscape heritage. For the past few decades, these chestnut groves have been the subject of recovery projects: after being abandoned after World War II, they now enjoy new life, being cultivated and managed as they once were.
To complete this experience full of stimuli and curiosities, we have also included a complete Forest Bath, which will take place right inside the chestnut forest at the time of year that gives us the fragrant blossoming of this tree. An experience that gives the body and mind a chance to carve out a moment of peace and quiet precisely by working in synergy with the treasure that springs from the chestnut forest.

Who can participate:

Adults and young people aged 16 and over in good health and physical condition, used to walking.
