Tamborini’s journey began in 1944 when Carlo Tamborini, together with his wife, founded their wine import and sales business. In an era of great challenges, the company distinguished itself by turning the difficulties of the time into opportunities. Over the years, the Tamborini name has become synonymous with quality and authenticity, establishing a reputation for excellence that endures to this day.
The company currently manages approximately 27 hectares of vineyards located in some of the most prestigious areas of Ticino, such as the hills of Gudo, the Ai Brughi vineyard in Comano, and the historic vineyard of Castelrotto. These vineyards are primarily planted with Merlot but also include other varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and innovative Piwi varieties like Johanniter and Souvignier Gris. The vineyards are managed using sustainable practices, with a strong focus on grape quality and environmental care, ensuring that every bottle reflects the unique characteristics of the Ticino terroir.
At the headquarters in Lamone, the Vinoteca offers more than 1,500 products: in addition to Tamborini wines, you’ll find selections from other Ticino producers as well as fine Italian, French, and Spanish wines. A curated collection of Champagne and Whisky completes the offering, making the Vinoteca an ideal venue for tastings and events, both private and corporate.
Over the years, Tamborini has received numerous awards and recognitions at both national and international levels. These accolades not only testify to the exceptional quality of the wines but also acknowledge the dedication and constant commitment of a company that has remained true to its roots while innovating and looking toward the future. This year, Tamborini is once again listed among the 150 Best Winegrowers in Switzerland in the prestigious Gault&Millau 2025 – Guide Schweiz.
In 2012, Claudio Tamborini was honored with the prestigious title of "Winegrower of the Year" at the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse. A pioneer of quality, Claudio played a decisive role in shaping the so-called "Ticino wine miracle."
