Nature, history and architecture harmoniously are intertwined at the impressive terraced cemetery built in 1750 and which still towers majestically over the village.
Alongside the graves of local villagers, the mausoleums contain the bodies of illustrious figures such as the baritone Georges Baklanoff, the composer, Eugen d’Albert, the surgeon, Hans Brun, the actor, Alessandro Moissi and the Morcote poet, Sergio Maspoli. A work of art by the British sculpture, Henry Moore, makes a visit to this cemetery even more evocative.
